Thank You!

Now that I've recovered from last weekend and the busy weekend at work, I just wanted to write and express my thanks to you all for everything you did for my event.

I honestly can't thank you enough for taking on such a huge task so late on and for producing a brilliant piece in the amount of time you did. It was so much more than I expected and I am so grateful for your hard work. I honestly can't imagine what I would have done if you hadn't have been able to take this project on.

The feedback I received from my guests has been very positive - they all really enjoyed themselves and playing along in trying to figure out the mystery themselves. There were only a couple of issues from their perspective with the table towards the back not being able to hear everything, although this was down to the issues with microphones that we encountered the day before. The other issue was due to the kitchen issues and food delays, which caused delays with the play but you were all so patient and understanding so thank you for that!
One suggestion I had was it would have been useful if you were wearing name badges, as some were getting confused with the characters so if you ever do something similar, keep that in mind maybe.

Other than that, the customers all really enjoyed themselves and would come again if another was held, which is great feedback to receive.

Once again, many thanks for all you have done and best of luck with your future careers. :)

well done

Well done all, really proud today. You coped well with changes, adjustments and all things new. Generous, responsive and well thought performances. I hope that you learnt a lot and there is still a lot to evaluate and reflect on .Please see below for this excellent opportunity.

We would like to invite your students to our Summer Project, Make Space 2014. It is a free four-week course (2 weeks in July and 2 weeks in September) created and facilitated by performance artist Nic Green for young artists to enhance skills in using performance-making as a lens for personal learning and individual development.

As well as the course, participants will be offered a programme of professional development, the opportunity to be involved with Artsadmin's Youth Board and be introduced to other peer and professional networks. I will pop some flyers in the post but please forward to your students, particularly those interested in performance. Here's the info:

What? Summer project designed for young artists who wish to expand and explore themselves and their creative abilities through Live Art and contemporary performance-making.
Who? 17-24 year olds
When? 9-18 July and 1-12 September, 10am-5pm. You must also be available for the taster session on 6 June at Toynbee Studios.
Where? At Toynbee Studios and offsite locations. The group will be focussing on London’s waterways, framing research and experimentation around the river and its systems to create a performance event responding to this site.
How do I apply? Email samtrotman@artsadmin.co.uk with no more than 200 words describing why you would like to take part by Friday 30 May.
Find out more by heading to our website (also check out the photo blog on Artsonline from last year's Make Space)

We are also working with Associate Artists Richard Houguez and the vacuum cleaner on a poster letting artists know how Artsadmin can support their artistic development through workshops, projects, advice sessions and bursaries and will be posting them out soon. It would be brilliant if you could put them up to spread the word to students and soon-to-be graduates.

Finally, we are pulling together a list of degree and masters shows where students are sharing performative practices so that someone from Artsadmin can attend and see the work. It would be great if you could add both myself and karl@artsadmin.co.uk to your invites lists and let us know when these will be taking place.

Speak soon and good luck with all the shows.
