Hi all,
Georgia and I have been working on the later part of the script that we have not really worked on alot yet. We played around with a few ideas and then came up with this idea as a way of linking our scenes together.
Think this could work really well with some of the script vanessa has written so let us know what you think.
When we are in our respective tents, we can ask the audience at the end of our personal stories if they have a fear or something that scares them that they could write down (this can easily be linked by bringing the story back to Grendal and then going into the goat scene) We could then share with the rest of the tent group what each person has written down and decide on a favourite each. This will link in nicely to the diologue on page 11 of our script.
When this peice of script is read later, we can bring up our favourite ones from the tent scenes and if there ar funny ones like Buttons or ketchup or ones that came up alot we can comment on this and maybe ask questions etc. We can the invite the audiene to "burn" their fears on the way out and we thought a great way of doing this would be to use physical theatre to portray a fire. Would look great with the three back painted actors being the base of the fire where the audience woud drop their paper and the limbs of the other painted actors could be flames flickinering around the fire.
The audience can then throw their paper into the " Fire" on the way out. If we need someone to guide the audience to do this, maybe it could be an oppertunity to bring back in hamlet who could perform the last few lines of Hamlet and then burn this own demons in the flame?
Just thought it is a really nice way to finish the tent scenes and then flow back into the story of Beowulf. Also link in nicely with Page 11.
