Shadow play

Shadow - play

What worked?
Distent light sorces, pojecting a siluet onto a tent withthe use of torches and actors. would give a character projection onto the tent and can be used to create a possible fight scene, or thesctors could create a scne that has a double meaning, it could look like a love scene first then finishes with a death upon one of the characters.

Why did it work?
This worked because it gave that sense of atmosphere, and it was easier to devise something because you could wor off of a stimulus. its incorperates physical theatre to promote the meaning of the simulus.

What did'nt work?
Having so many in a tent at one time. his didnt work because the tents could get hot really easily. it can also get really costriphobic.

why didnt it work?
IT wouldnt work because having the audience focusing on being panicked or aggitated,it would loose the whole intention of the show, we want the audience to stay ingaged to the story and not to be wanting to get out.

What have you seen?

This is link to the show 'Britain's got talent' a group performing a shadow act. this performance inspired me alot. looking at the video i tried to think of the same style performance to link in to Beawulf. I felt that i did'nt want the dance style movment, but i thought that the section had to be smooth. while studying the video, i knew that if we were to create a shadow act, like the one from Britain's got talent, Every actor must know what they are doing, otherwise the illusion will be lost.

  1. good start. for the final submission, we need to proofread but that's fine. Good points though you need better research sources than x factor as useful as that might be. The key to what we are doing hopefully, is the mixture of story-telling techniques so shadow play is just one of them. what does this mean in the devising? what does the mixing of styles and mediums convey to an audience about story-telling?
