Monday - Lecture
  • Grotowski, Towards a Poor Theatre, 1938 – “What takes place between spectator and actor”.
  • Peter Brook, An Empty Space, 1968 - "A man walks across this empty space whilst someone is watching him and that is all we need for an actor of theatre to be engaged".

  • Thrust seating - Ancient Greek Theatre
  • Proscenium Arch Theatre (with wings) - What we call a "normal theatre set"

sTuesday - Body & Breath
  • Keep stretching
  • Try and do the splits up the wall 3 times a week to get a better result and to get your legs/muscles get used to it

Wednesday/Thursday
  • Hop/Hep Song (Beat)
  • Dances
  • Group Work with Jakko & Ami creating movement for the Mead Hall
  • 4 sets of 8 - unison
  • 4 sets of 8 - cannon (build somehow)
  • 4 sets of 8 - slow
  • 4 sets of 8 - rhythm (sound)
  • Drunken Dancing
  • Learning dances/movement from other groups
  • King & Queen inprovisation
  • My head connected to Victors body for King & Queen
  • Victor lifting me up
  • Victor lying down with his legs up and I sat on him, so it looked like Victor's legs were mine, with me telling a story and Victor reacting with his legs
  • Cody & I sitting on Victor's and Jakko's back (on all fours) - pretending to be our slaves/dogs/entertainers
  • Jakko & Victor on Cody and I's back on all fours pretending to be their horses
Tasks:
  • Find some jokes about Beowulf that we could incorporate into the show
  • Try and write a song/s for the show
