Point evidence explain
P: twitter/social media can be used to engage an audience
in a non-theatrical setting
E: Theatre is not dependent on location (Weaver 2009:2)
E: social media can enhance the connection between
performer and audience and engage/include the audience in the performance. For
example the social media site twitter could be used to communicate clues to the
audience in a cluedo style performance. Using social media the actors can
engage with an audience giving them a unique personal experience with the actor
or giving directions for example in a promenade performance you could lead the
audience with instructions via social media rather than having a performer lead
them round or you can have different actors sending different messages to
different audience members making each of their experiences unique.

Well done Jordan, thank you for posting.
ReplyDeleteWe can start with this in tutorial next week. Your explanation shows that you are thinking about your point, and giving examples of how you use social media to engage the audience. Next step would be to find a piece of theatre or an event to use in your explanation. See you next week!
